Prophets and Apostles
Within the last week I have had the opportunity to be in the presence of and listen to latter-day prophets and apostles. Sunday was Stake Conference and I sat just rows away from President Packer, Elder Holland, Elder Snow, and Sister Beck. That evening was a CES fireside and Elder Scott spoke on "two vital pillars of our Heavenly Father's plan, the family and the home." On Tuesday was Devotional and Elder Robert D. Hales taught on choices and blessings. He encouraged us to "make choices based on who we are, what we have been given, and what we are to become."
I know that God leads the church through his servants - prophets and apostles who have been called to guide us in the latter-days. My testimony has been strengthened by listening and learning from their counsel.
In True to the Faith it states, "We can always trust the living prophets. Their teachings reflect the will of the Lord, who declared: "What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same" (D&C 1:38).
